Lilinoe

A new civic edge set within Kakaʻako Makai, Līlīnoe responds to renewed conversation about the future of Honolulu’s urban shoreline. The project envisions a more generous civic edge at Kewalo Basin, where hospitality, residences, dining, and landscape form a connected waterfront district. Two low-rise buildings frame lush garden courts and resort amenities, while a public park, marina promenade, and waterfront restaurants return the ground plane to people. Rather than treating open space as a remainder of development, Līlīnoe places it at the center, strengthening public access to the water and imagining how contemporary life might take root within the evolving identity of Kakaʻako Makai.
