A Considered Expression of Island Retail
Makana, meaning gift in Hawaiian, reimagines an existing Waikīkī storefront as a quiet expression of island hospitality and contemporary retail. The exterior is recast in textured plaster, warm timber, generous glazing, and integrated planting, establishing a refined presence along the street. Within, limestone, softly illuminated millwork, botanical artwork, and intimate seating create a tactile sequence between display, fitting, and repose.
More than a setting for merchandise, the boutique is conceived as an experience of welcome and discovery, one in which architecture, landscape, and the ritual of exchange are held in careful balance.
